What this site had to do.
- Sell weddings and funerals from the same page without the tone hurting anyone.
- Answer whether it is open, and when it opens, before someone drives over for nothing.
- Let the owner add photos from her phone, because the bouquets change every day.
02 / The decision
One thing I did differently.
The same counter sells wedding bouquets and funeral wreaths, so there is not a single exclamation mark on the site. No bouncing, no confetti, no “special offers”. The only movement is photos fading softly into the gallery — switched off for anyone whose phone asks for reduced motion.
Two smaller decisions follow from the same thought. Things that cannot be priced in advance — church decoration, a wedding bouquet — show “price on request” and never hide the field, because a missing price is information too. And because bouquets change daily and 48 hours is too long for flowers, the owner adds photos herself, from her phone: the picture is shrunk in the browser before it leaves, so an upload takes seconds even on a weak signal.
