The questions people actually ask.

Including the awkward ones. If yours isn't here, email me and you'll get the same kind of answer.

I've never heard of you. How do I know this isn't a scam?

Fair question, and you should ask it. Every site I've built is listed by name and city on the work page, so you can look those places up yourself and see they exist.

Payment goes through Stripe on a card, never a bank transfer, never gift cards, never crypto. And you see your own site working before any money changes hands.

Why is there already a website for my restaurant?

I built it before contacting you, on my own time, so you'd have something real to look at instead of a sales pitch. It's a working page, not a picture of one.

If you're not interested it comes down and that's the end of it. You don't owe me anything for it.

Who owns the site and the domain?

You do. The domain is registered in your name, and the photos and text are yours.

If you ever leave, you take the domain and the content with you and I'll hand over the files. Nothing is held hostage.

What happens if I stop paying?

The site stays up for the month you've paid for, then comes down. You keep the domain and I'll send you the files.

There's no cancellation fee and no final invoice. Cancel by email.

Why is this cheaper than the agency that quoted me?

One person, working from home, with no sales team and no office. Most of what an agency charges pays for people you'd never speak to.

I also don't build online ordering or table booking, which is where a lot of the cost in a restaurant site normally goes.

You're in Poland. What if something breaks on a Friday night?

Poland runs six to seven hours ahead of the US, so your Friday evening is the middle of my night. I'm not going to promise I'll answer at 2am, because that isn't true.

What I will say is that it'll be dealt with by your morning. These sites are simple on purpose, which is a large part of why they don't tend to break.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. It's month to month and you cancel by sending me an email.

I already have a website. Do I need this?

Maybe not. If your current site loads quickly on a phone, shows the right hours and has this year's menu on it, keep it.

The reason I message restaurants is that quite often one of those three is wrong. If yours are all fine, I'll tell you so.

Can I see it before I pay?

You already have. The preview I sent you is the site — not a mockup or a template with your logo dropped on it.

What if I don't like it?

Tell me what's wrong and I'll change it. That happens before any money, and there's no limit on it.

If it's still not right, we shake hands and stop. You won't have paid anything.

Do you do online ordering or table booking?

No. Those are hard to do well and the good ones already exist.

If you use Toast, Square, ChowNow or OpenTable, you keep it and I link people straight to it. Rebuilding that would cost you more and work worse.

How do I pay?

By card, through Stripe. You get a receipt by email each time.

I don't take bank transfers, cash, gift cards or anything that can't be reversed. If someone claiming to be me ever asks for one of those, it isn't me.

Tell me about your place.

Leave a few details and I'll come back to you. No obligation, and I won't put you on a mailing list.

  • You'll hear back from me, not an assistant.
  • If it isn't a fit, I'll tell you that instead of selling.
